Condom Effectiveness

An article on the Medical News website details a study on condom effectiveness with men that have 'non-standard' penises.

The results of the study indicated that many men (44.7%) reported ill-fitting condoms. There were higher incidences of breakage, slippage, and greater difficulty in both partners reaching orgasm. They were also more likely to remove the condoms before sex is over. They were more likely to cause irritation (to both partners), become dry, and cause a loss of erection.

The study included 440 men, with a mean age of 29.6, who had used a condom in sexual intercourse with a woman in the last three months. 195 of these men reported a poor condom fit.

This is a rather large minority that average condoms don't work that well for. I feel that the limited contraceptive options for men should be expanded to give men and couples a greater degree of control and flexibility in family planning.
